About Meridian Compass

The navigator.
Not the vendor.

Independent CMMC navigation for defense contractors. We help you understand what's required and connect you with the right certified assessment partner.

Our mission

Why Meridian Compass exists.

The CMMC compliance market has a structural problem: the companies that need help navigating certification are being sold to by the same people who deliver the services. Consultants, software vendors, and compliance platforms all have a financial incentive to expand your scope — because bigger scope means a bigger engagement.

Meridian Compass exists to sit on the contractor's side of that equation. We determine what you actually need, match you with the right certified assessor for your size and situation, and make sure the handoff is clean.

We don't run assessments. We don't sell software. We don't bill hours. Our role is navigation — and it ends when you're in the right hands.

"An independent advisor — compensated for making the right match, not the most expensive one."

Our model works like an independent insurance broker or mortgage advisor: we're compensated by the assessment partners we connect you with, and only when the match is right. This means we have no incentive to oversell, upsell, or expand your scope beyond what's necessary.

Our model

Independent of all assessment and remediation providers

Compensated by certified partners on successful placement

No incentive to expand your scope or recommend expensive options

No hourly billing, no retainers, no software licenses

Our approach

Navigator, not vendor.

We operate upstream of the compliance vendors — helping you figure out what you need before you hire anyone to do it.

01

Understand your situation

We start with your contracts and your existing environment. Most contractors don't know which CMMC level applies, or whether they even handle CUI. We find out.

02

Find the right fit

Every CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and Registered Practitioner Organization (RPO) — advisory firms that help you prepare — has different strengths, capacity, and pricing. We match based on your size, timeline, and industry — not who's paying us the highest referral rate.

03

Hand off cleanly

We don't disappear after the introduction. We brief your matched partner on your situation so the engagement starts on solid footing and nothing falls through.

What we stand for

Four principles.

Independence

We don't sell compliance software. We don't run assessments. We don't compete with the partners we recommend. Independence is the whole point.

Transparency

How we're paid, what we know, and what we don't — we tell you straight. If you don't need us, we'll say so.

Expertise

We track the CMMC ecosystem daily — C3PAO capacity, pricing, specializations, regulatory changes. You shouldn't have to become a compliance expert to keep your DoD contracts.

Results

We measure ourselves by certifications completed, not calls booked. If the match doesn't lead to certification, we didn't do our job.

The CMMC landscape

Why this matters right now.

CMMC Phase 2 enforcement begins November 2026. That means contracts are being awarded right now with CMMC requirements embedded in the DFARS clauses — requirements that take 6–18 months to satisfy.

With fewer than 100 authorized C3PAOs serving over 80,000 contractors, the assessment community is structurally bottlenecked. Wait times are already stretching months, and Phase 2 hasn't even hit peak demand.

That's the gap Meridian Compass fills: helping contractors understand their requirements, get scoped, and matched with the right partner — while there's still runway to act.
